Fun at Fasouri Waterpark

Fun at Fasouri Waterpark

It’s the summer holidays. It’s 30 degrees inside my house. It’s hot and sunny outside. It’s time for Fasouri Waterpark fun!

Fasouri Waterpark is a couple of kilometres from My Mall in Limassol. Don’t be fooled by the underwhelming entrance when you turn off the main road, you aren’t about to enter a farm. Behind all the trees is a large car park, ticket booths and a shop that you walk through – and then you come out into an incredible waterpark.

Off the top of my head, Fasouri Waterpark has 15 water slides, 5 pools, a fish spa, restaurants and snack bars, a lazy river – and a giant orange boobie.

A few tips:

  • Get there when it opens to nab the best sun-loungers

  • Take loads of water and snacks – you are told you aren’t allowed to take these in but no one checks and the food is over-priced at the park

  • Definitely buy tickets for your next visit on the way out – you will get a substantial discount if you buy them on your way out. You will definitely want to go again.

  • When you’ve gone on all the slides frontwards, go backwards – extra, extra fun!!

I’ve lost count of how many times we have been to Fasouri Waterpark, but we have a mini gallery on our fridge of official Fasouri photos taken with various friends.

These are our highlights:

The little orange slides in the central pool with the massive bucket that empties water on your head – this is one of Goobie’s highlights because he can go down the slides on his own. He will go on these for AGES, pushing his way to the front of the queue (I’m told).

There’s a boy in there somewhere

The big orange slide – a highlight for all of us because we can go on it together on a triple inflatable. Last year we had to watch out because when we landed in the pool, Goobie kept falling through the hole in the inflatable. Thankfully, the staff that work at Fasouri Waterpark are very diligent and pulled him out in no time. This year he can swim and purposely disappears through the hole.

The Kamikaze – the steepest, fastest, most intimidating slide. Great for the adrenaline, but hold on to your bikini! One of my highlights.

The Black Cannons – short, extremely steep, with a flick at the bottom that pings you over a ridge and into a deep pool. There’s no doing this gracefully. One of Matt’s favourites.

Landing head-first. Spot my feet!

The wave pool – this is one of Goobie’s highlights, which surprised me since the sea is so much better for waves. But the pool is shallow and he loves just mucking around in it. There’s a zip-wire at the deep end that buff blokes are always doing somersaults off. Every time I go on it I aim to drop elegantly into the water at the end of the wire – and every time the zip-wire stops earlier than I think it will and I drop like a sack of potatoes, bum first.

The Black Hole(s) – there are two of them. As far as I can tell, the Extreme Black Hole is a bit faster and has fewer lights in it, but both are fun. I discovered on my last visit that going down with another person makes it a lot faster. These are particularly fun if you go down backwards.

The Probowl – because it feels like being flushed down the toilet.

The Lazy River – this is like torture to me, but it’s Matt and Goobie’s highlight. We sit in a massive family-sized inflatable and drift PAINFULLY SLOWLY along a river, under a tunnel and through the odd little waterfall. Goobie adores it and it’s been a hit with friends’/relatives’ toddlers who find the bigger pools too noisy and splashy. During my last visit I found a way to have fun on the Lazy River – pile as many adults and children into the family inflatable as possible and see how far down the river you get before it sinks or someone goes overboard. Brilliant fun!!

And finally . . . The Big Orange Boobie. We all love this one. It’s a massive, inflatable orange hill that spurts out water at the top to make it extra slippery. There are ropes for you to climb to the top and then you bounce/slide back down into a pool. It’s such fun!! The only issue is that children and adults can’t go on together so we have to wait at the bottom while Goobie has a turn, then Matt or I have to queue again so that we can have a turn with the adults. There’s a smaller, rainbow boobie in the toddler pool near the Lazy River.

Other things to note:

Ice creams and cocktails in the Aloha Bar a must!

Fasouri Waterpark has a couple of lovely toddler pools, with an elephant slide and little swings.

There are a few places to grab lunch. We usually eat at the Pirates Cove because there’s lots of seating. It sells standard chips, nuggets, burgers, hotdogs etc. It’s over-priced and you don’t get a lot for your money, but it will keep you going. We also tried the little Italian restaurant, La Nostra Pizza. Not as much seating and the shade isn’t as good, but the food is delicious and there’s lots of it.

Finally, make sure you grab some doughnuts on the way out from the Mini Donuts Kiosk. They smell and look delicious. I didn’t grab any and I’m still craving them.

Hi, I'm Julia

I love travelling and have been all over the world with my husband, Matt. Going home always sucked. I wanted more – I wanted to live abroad. When my son Goobie was born, I took a career break from publishing books in London. So, when Matt’s job gave us the opportunity to move to Cyprus, we grabbed it with both hands, ready to embrace everything Cyprus has to offer. Follow us as we explore this amazing island, from the beautiful to the baffling, the exciting to the downright embarrassing.
